Post with 1 note
I vividly remember the first time I spent Christmas away from home and in Cebu. I just finished taking a call (I was still working as CSR that time) when the clock struck twelve, and I cried like crazy! My good friend Bryan got teary eyed too, thanks to me. I decided to leave work early, went home, and continued to cry.
This year, however, was totally different. Thanks to Rej and Shiela, Christmas was definitely happier this time around!
I began Christmas Eve by having coffee with Rej at Seattle’s Best. It was actually my first time to go to Seattle’s in Cebu. I love the Christmas drink that I had! (I don’t remember the name, unfortunately.)
A little word of advice: if you’re in Cebu on the twenty-fourth of December, have an early dinner! A lot of establishments were closed, and the few that were open closed at 8:00 p.m.! IT Park was a ghost town! Good thing Linea was open till nine. We love their food there. Linea saved us from what was supposed to be a Jollibee noche buena.
After dinner, we went to Mango to have a few drinks. It was kinda deserted at first, but later that night, more people arrived (mostly Koreans)!
Met up with Shiela and Rej the next day and had Christmas dinner at Bistro (or Patio) Ecila!
Then off we went to Coffee Cat. We had Yogurt, as usual. Thanks Rej!
Rej was amazed by the fact that his name wasn’t handwritten on the drink. Actually, I was amazed too. Beat that, Starbucks. Haha.
Overall, I really had fun this Christmas. See, independent living isn’t so bad after all, as long as you have true (and also independent) friends with you!
I believe it’s never too late to make a life-changing decision, no matter what age you are. It will only be too late if you never tried it in the first place (and you know you had the chance) and then end up regretting it.
Makes sense, right?
I would be a hypocrite if I say that I don’t care what other people think or say about me. It is inherent, as a human being, that I respond to it. Go ahead and think that I came here because I “went after a man.” Excuse me for dreaming big. Excuse me for deciding to do what I love doing. Excuse me for realizing I wanted something other than being a nurse. Excuse me if I make mistakes, because, if you’re unaware, that’s part of being human. And excuse me if I keep dreaming for something better. I’m living my life without stepping on anyone. Perhaps you should do the same too, instead of wishing for someone else’s failure.
Must remind self that Facebook posts and other Internet-related posts shouldn’t strictly adhere to The Chicago Manual of Style. Leave work matters where they should be … at work.

Although at first I had a hard time understanding old-timey English, I eventually got the hang of it and find the story really interesting! I’m almost halfway through the story. I’m on that part where Heathcliff comes back to Catherine (who’s by now married to Edgar Linton). Now it becomes interesting! I can’t wait to know how this all ends! (I did hear that it ends tragically though.)
Then I found out that they’re doing a remake of a movie! I think two versions have been released before; but this would be the first time that they’re actually casting a black guy as Heathcliff, which is just exactly how Bronte intended Heathcliff to be, in my opinion.
In the meantime, I’m downloading a TV version of Wuthering Heights.
Now I see why Carrie Bradshaw and Bella Swan are into this! Haha.
